The Mason Public School District is located just south of Lansing . The district is committed to providing educational opportunities ranging from a solid foundation of reading and mathematics to activities that challenge the intellect and help the students become active participants in the learning process. Mason Public Schools are focused on quality improvement in every aspect of their operations, which include teaching, learning, and the support services of transportation, food service, maintenance, and administration. To meet that commitment, staff members are given opportunities to increase their learning and expand their knowledge in order to support and assist students in their educational endeavors.

Through the community's support, the school district recently completed a capital improvement program that has helped students and staff improve the core curriculum and prepare for the new opportunities and active learning that students require for the 21st century.

Through many innovative programs, the schools involve parents, senior citizens, and business, industry, and service organizations in its programs and activities.
