The city of Potterville, located southwest of Lansing, is home to the Sunset Hills subdivision.

Situated just 12 miles from greater Lansing, Potterville is primarily a bedroom community. The small town atmosphere of this city has attracted new residents over the years while still maintaining its sense of community and pride. With its offerings of fine schools, retail businesses, churches, community organizations, and recreational facilities, Potterville is a wonderful place to live!

Potterville is known as the "City of Helping Hands" and its strong sense of community involvement is supported by the Chamber of Businesses.  The chamber members work together with the government and area residents to bring new industry, retail, and service companies to the area.

"Gizzard Fest"
The annual hometown "Gizzard Fest" offers many fun activities and events that draw people from all over the state.  The festival is held the weekend of Father's Day each year and is open to everyone.  The parade, fireworks display, gizzard eating contest, and car and motorcycle shows, are just a few of the events people enjoy each year.

History
Potterville was first settled by Linus and Diana Potter in 1844. Upon Linus' death a few years later, the eldest of his seven children, George Potter, led the family in clearing the land, and eventually building a sawmill and boarding house, which later became a hotel in 1868. Potterville was incorporated as a village in 1881 and later as a city in 1962.
